Week 4

Its now week 4 and we have a good amount of work done now. Over the weekend I worked on my new pieces of stitches, I did some “faggoting” stitches, diamond stitches, and intertwined stitches. I thought they looked really cute and edgy I feel like this is exactly the style I was going for and I also made some designs that fit it well. Today we had a really lovely day, we were paired up to do some peer reviews on where were at in our project. I was paired with Yuan who I kind of know, we had a really enjoyable conversation he said he thought my pages were really interesting and said he liked my style and thought the topic was strange but nice. I thought his project was great his research and photos were so dynamic I think they really show who he is as a person. We both agreed that I could be a bit more cleaner in my process and maybe just keep my designs a bit more linear to my research. I think peer reviews are beneficial always its nice to see what other people in your class were doing. I never talked to Yuan prior but after talking to him we both figured out we had similar interests and also shared cool music from our cultures. Today I also started off drawing my final lineup and my poses were kind of crazy which I thought was a good idea at first, but eventually came to the decision that it was just best if i keep my poses simply 3/4, side, front and back.

Examples of where I would put the decorative faggoting stitching in my pieces.
First trial of poses for lineup along with color tests which I thought muted colors would work best.
